Jenniffer García graduated as an occupational therapist at Universidad de Chile (2003), and Master of Philosophy in occupational therapy at The University of Queensland (UQ),(2017). She worked for 12 years with children with neurological conditions, and teaching at universities, in Valparaiso-Chile. The last 5 years she has been working as a teaching and research assistant at UQ.
Since 2014 she has been enrolled at UQ as a RHD student sponsored by Becas Chile, at the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Her Master research project explored clinical reasoning and the use of evidence-based practice among Chilean occupational therapists. In 2017 she started her PhD, which aims to build research capacity and promote the uptake of evidence-based practice in Latin America. As part of her PhD, in 2018 her research team was awarded a grant provided by UQ Global engagement, which will fund two UQ academics and researchers to deliver professional training in Chile at the end of 2019. Her current research interests are clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice, contemporary occupational therapy practice, continuing professional development, teaching, and paediatric clinical practice.
