Julián Reyes is an Engineer in natural resource conservation from the University of Concepción, Chile. As an undergraduate student, he participated in several projects within the Landscape Ecology Laboratory (LEP), University of Concepción. He developed his undergraduate thesis in Black woodpecker habitat connectivity. Following he worked as a research assistant in the LEP coordinating a conservation plan for a threatened species Pitavia punctata. He has also worked for the Ecology and Biodiversity Institute (IEB) coordinating the project “Management plan for Cerro Cayumanque biodiversity, Bio-bío Region” an Environmental regional ministry public bid. He participated in a watershed management project for water scarcity in La Araucanía region and carried spatial analyses and GIS.
Julián is currently studying a Master in Conservation science at the Biological School of Science, and their research interest is: Ecological modelling, threatened species management and conservation planning.
Area/Research interests: Conservation planning, Ecological restoration, Landscape ecology, Protected areas, Ecological modeling.
