Karen Mackay is a Nutritionist from Universidad Mayor (2011) in Santiago, Chile. She finished her Masters in Clinical Exercise Physiology from the University of Florida, the USA in 2014. She has experience as a research assistant and lecturer in Finis Terrae University, working at the Exercise Science Laboratory and lecturing for postgraduate programs in the School of Nutrition and Kinesiology. She has worked with elite athletes as a sports dietitian, in the National soccer team (ANFP), Everton Vina del Mar, National Synchronized Swimming team, National beach Handball team and others. Additionally, she worked at the National Institute of Sports (IND) as the Nutritionist coordinator of two social national exercise-based programs for two years.
Currently she is PhD candidate at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane -Australia, where she is studying the effects of nutritional interventions over serotonin production and parameters of motor function.
