The Chilean conference in Australia has been organised for six consecutive years by the Chilean student’s Associations at The University of Queensland- UQ Chile, at The University of New South Wales Sydney- CHISA, at the University of Melbourne-CREGA, and at the Australian National University. It was born as an initiative of CREGA, and supported later by the rest of the Associations, allowing the CGC to grow and increasingly build its reputation and impact.
The event has represented a unique opportunity to develop and/or strengthen networks between Chileans in Australia and other parts of the world, in regards to academia and industry. The Conference has received permanent support from Chile Global.
The fourth version of the conference, entitled “Applying Advanced Knowledge to Enhance Chile’s Development “, was hosted by The University of Queensland. Dr Hans Richter and Dr Andres Zahler were the keynote speakers that led the discussions with around 120 attendees. The organising committee was successful in grant applications (COALAR, Chile Global) and numerous sponsorship requests that supported the conference with AUD$30,000 approximately.
The Fifth version of the conference “Science, technology and innovation for sustainable development in Chile” was held at the UNSW Sydney the 3rd and 4th of October, 2017. The 5CGC has successfully congregated around 120 attendees and had the privilege of inviting Dr Alejandra Mizala, Dr Rodrigo Palma and Dr Peter Saunders as Keynote Speakers. Supported by Grants and sponsors, the 5CGC was funded with approximately AUD$17,000.
